Clash of Clans for Noobs

Clash of Clans has been around for a long time–2012 for the iPhone and 2013 for the Android platform. It’s been around for awhile, but you might have noticed the 2015 Super Bowl ad featuring Clash of Clans and that piqued your interest. The game catapulted to the top of both app stores and earned an estimated 1.5 million dollars per day! Breaking it down, the game is like most other strategy games in that you have your base to defend, your troops, and the enemy to attack. It received favorable reviews from many of the major gaming magazines. Seems simple enough right? Here are some tips to get you started and on your way.

If you are a fan of strategy games, you will know that some prefer defensive bases rather than bases setup to support early attacks. I focus on building a defensive network so that I have a backup plan if my offensive attack fails. Offensive that produce units are known as army buildings. Building a barracks will allow you to begin training troops to attack your enemy. Barracks are where troops are produced. Unit quality increases as your buildings are upgraded.

Defensive Buildings

Where To Start with Entertainment and More

By having a strong defense network, you can deflect any enemy advances and mount a counterattack to destroy the enemy’s base. Generally, building up a strong defense allows me to focus on gathering resources, which in Clash of Clans is gathered through the construction of resource buildings. Usually, depending on the pace of the game and your opponent’s strategy, you will often be alternating between offensive and defensive tactics. You’ll certainly lose an entire army at some point, and all you have left are those lousy armed fortifications back at the base. I try to send everyone back to the center of the village to protect the town hall and barracks, along with my defensive structures.

Don’t lose the Town Hall

Protecting the town hall should be the last-ditch priority to stay in the game. However, the town hall is the last point on the map, and if your town hall is threatened you might have to accept defeat. Overall, this game is very enjoyable, especially the fact that you can take it on the go and play wherever you have a few minutes to spare–no waiting until you get home to play this one. One of the biggest advantages to this game is its multiplayer modes where you can play along with friends. Just remember, if you are playing with other people n your team, please strategize.
